Stripes & denim

When the awesome gals at PDPR offered me the use of a MINI Cooper convertible from Brisbane MINI Garage for a week, I immediately begged for the keys over the Easter weekend.

With five days off work, I was keen to go topless (as in the roof!) and hit the open road for some adventures, and with trips to the Tallebudgera Valley, Tamborine and Mt Coot-tha, I certainly made the most of my new wheels!

One of the highlights of the weekend was my Good Friday road trip to Tamborine with my partner in crime for the day, Liam.

We coasted along wind in our hair, the sun on our faces, the smell of nature instead of the chill of air conditioning and my bad singing disappearing into the air.

When traveling for long distances, or even short, it can be a little difficult to stay stylish, especially in a car. Layering while on a road trip (especially if you’re lucky enough to be doing it in a convertible) is essential to being stylishly comfortable. If you get too warm remove a layer, if it gets chilly; add a jumper or cardi.

With temps over the Easter weekend still in the high 20s, I decided to keep cool (and work on my tan) with distressed denim shorts and a pink strappy top. But given I was heading up the mountain, likely to be out all day and not overly partial to keeping the roof on, I also threw in a lightweight striped knit sweater for when things started to cool down.
