How to wear a bomber jacket

Bomber jackets are back this autumn/winter and they’re super versatile – you can team them with everything from jeans to party dresses!

Last year I bought a couple of floral bombers, but when I spotted this slightly oversized Stussy World Tour Bomber Jacket at Glue Store on the weekend, I couldn’t resist.

Hello tiger.

It comes in a pale pink/black version which was very me (and great if you want to do a ‘Pink Ladies’ style throwback) but I already have a pale pink bomber, so I thought I’d mix things up with this black sateen version.

As well as the back tiger detailing, it has a ribbed collar, cuffs and hem in striped black and white. (#teamstripes forever).

When it comes to styling a bomber, my favourite fuss-free look is to team it with skinny jeans or denim shorts, depending on the temperature. Add a simple tee, a pair of sunnies and you’re good to go. The best part is this outfit can be worn with heels or flats, depending on the occasion and your own personal preference.

How to wear a bomber jacket:

  • Throw your bomber jacket over a printed summer dress, scrunch the sleeves up and add wedges or sneakers for a relaxed summery style.
  • Take inspiration from the ‘Pink Ladies’ and wear your bomber with a pencil skirt for a 50s vibe. Add a dash of red lipstick to finish off this retro look.
  • Choose a bomber in a silk or sateen fabric if you’re looking for a piece you can wear from day-to-night. Throw it on over your favourite party dress and add heels and clutch for a night out.
  • Transition your bomber into work wear, by teaming it with a pleated midi skirt for an edgy but feminine everyday look.
